Here is a preliminary list of issues identified by Joanne, with some notes on possible causes and fixes added after each '>'. A bunch of these are solved by simply making the rime.css stylesheet available to the app, since initially it wasn't being found.

• Selection: alignment of each component does not look right. The title characters are not formatted as bold.
  > Rime styling was incorrect

• AutoComplete: does not work

• Calendar: the default calendar does not properly displayed (no grid look); the popup calendar icon does not show
  > Rime styling and incorrect path to the images

• Charts: only two types of charts can be displayed: Bar and Pie 2D. Controls above do not work; controls are not horizontally aligned and their title characters are not formatted as bold.
  > Bean scope was incorrect so the chart was being recreated and reset (as part of it's default constructor) on every interaction.

• Download Resources: alignment issue + title characters bold issue.
  > More Rime styling, alot of these issues came about because the xmlhttp folder containing the rime resources (sheet and images) was unavailable to the app.

• Drag and Drop: does not work. Exception outputs to server console (please refer to the attachment for exception detail)
  > Possibly an issue with the DragEvent

• File Upload: not available. Clicking on the navigation menu does not bring up the File Upload page. Exception throws (please refer to the attachment for exception detail)
  > An issue with the iframe and how it's handled by the framework

• Google Maps: Map does not display at all.

• Menu Bar: does not work. Plus, menu items do not display in a "menu" look. Exception throws (please refer to the attachment for exception detail)
  > Missing Rime style

• Menu Popup: does not work. Besides, menu and sub menu do not display in proper position, and do not have a "menu" look. Exception throws (please refer to the attachment for exception detail)
  > Missing Rime style

• Progress Bar: not available. Clicking on the navigation menu does not bring up the Progress Bar page. Exception throws (please refer to the attachment for exception detail)
  > RenderManager issues for how it was declared in faces-config

r19215 - Added rime stylesheet so that all the style issues I commented about before are fixed. Also I removed the renderManager injected into the progress bar bean so that the page can be displayed, even if it doesn't update properly yet.

to resolve 4458, 4922 must be resolved

for the most part 4922 resolves drag and drop, however, after the first drop, the drop zone changes to below where it should be. If you add and then remove all objects, drop zone is totaly lost.

Other issues remaining to date can be classed into these groups:-
1) NPE for StateManagementStrategyImpl which is exhibited by MenuBar, MenuPopup, Tree,

2) non-responsive buttons (javascript ) exhibited by ProgressMonitor, PanelSeries, DynamicTabbedPane and PopupPanel. Other javascript issues include PositionedPanel which only works the first time. ResizableColumns is also unresponsive.

3) component not even rendering but no exceptions thrown, include InputRichText and GMap.

Some css to be done includes columnGrouping and selection components. Fileupload doesn't work at all, Charting semi-works but something is wrong with lifecycle and things being submitted/rendered in a disturbed order...for example 2 partial submits might give you the correct view).
Autocomplete is coming along..hoping to get it working with modification of beans/scopes. Annotating application scope on dictionary isn't initializing it.

For dataexporter, get the following message on server log:- the"resource"is not defined. Had to modify build to include jxl.jar.

Othercomponents with problems

The styling issue with the selection components seems to be related to how <!-- comments --> are now handled inside a panelGrid. Each comment seemed to be taking up a column in the panelGrid when really it should be ignored. So the selection page had a panelGrid with 2 columns (one for labels and one for the component), but it was getting pushed over by one column because there was a comment preceding each label/field set.

4968 will be required for completiong of 4458

the components that use a commandbutton with actionListener will not work until 4970 is resolved.

panelSeries and dynamic tabset are now resolved with ICE-4970 (as well as commandbuttons). Still working on progressMonitor.

Just a few notes about the current version of compat component-showcase:-
1) regression (already). for some reason, today's build is showing problems with menupopup and menubar. I looked in the svn log, but can't seem to find where the problem lies. There are no server exceptions, and it is probably javascript-related by the looks of it. On the other hand, panelPopup now kind of works (FF only).
2) any javascript-related issues (like 1) are being left for now until Mircea and Adnan have figured out how to get the javascript libraries/functions loaded for the various components. This includes charts, autocomplete, gmap, inputRichText (although it looks good today), tree, Adnan has been assigned 4992. Once javascript gets loaded properly and done with encoding of components, more jiras may be created if these components still don't work.
3) ICE-5000 fix has been committed (using getRequestMap() instead of requestParameterMap()...see jira for details).
4) progressMonitor. Ted had stated that we were going to use pushServer for pushing the progressMonitor instead of the current PushServer api. If this is the case, we should open a jira for this and link it to 4458.
5) safari issues. Most of the components work fine using Firefox, but Safari is totally not good at all (too many problems to list). Most of the javascript fixes already done do not solve problems with Safari but do with FF.
6)Drag & Drop:- drop area moves after first drop. If you remove all the items in the shopping cart, you lose the drop area permanently
7)ICE-4493...for review by components team, but the panelPopup now (kind of) works. Problem with menupopup when it worked a couple of days ago
8) panelTooltip giving NPE when trying to find the parent Id of the form. I am looking into this. Will create jira today.
9) position panel only works first time (javascript problem?).
10) I just realized that panelConfirmation isn't in the application, so am currently adding it in. (it was added to the current showcase after I did this one).
11) it is now locking up occasionally (even with FF). Will try to see if there is some consistent behaviour.
13) LASTLY....fileupload will be the last one to be fixed.

panelTooltip problem (ICE-5020) is resolved.
