ICEmobile Native Components not working with iOS 8 + BridgeIt 1.0.5

      ICEmobile EE 1.3.1.GA_P01, BridgeIt 1.0.5, iOS 8.x

      Description

The ICEmobile Showcase demos that use the native BridgeIt components (scan, camera, etc.) are not functional when used on an iOS 8.x device, using BridgeIt v1.0.5.

When you attempt to use a native component, a popup with the following message appears: "Sorry the command scan for BridgeIt is not supported on this platform"

However, tests using an iOS 7.x device work as expected with the same demos and BridgeIt 1.0.5 versions, so this seems to be specific to iOS 8.

Also note that the ICEfaces 4 Mobile Showcase native components work fine on both iOS 7 and iOS 8 with the same BridgeIt v1.0.5 version, so this issue appears to be limited to the ICEmobile EE 1.3.1.GA_P01 mobile components.

Philip Breau added a comment -

ICEmobile 1.3.1 p1 supports BridgeIt 1.0.4, and comes packaged with that version. BridgeIt 1.0.4 doesn't support iOS 8. So we need to either repackage ICEmobile 1.3.1 p2 with BridgeIt 1.0.5, or (more appropriately) add in a configuration setting to override which BridgeIt version is used.
