      Description

      The HotSpot Internet browser on the Blackberry 9000+ platform has general support for ICEfaces components, but there is a substantial list of components with known issues on this platform (see below). Support for Blackberry devices is expected to improve dramatically once the new Blackberry browser based on WebKit is available.

      - autocomplete (no dropdown list displayed, no suitable UI mechanism/hover)
      - outputChart (cannot be selected or interacted with, no suitable UI mechanism/hover)
      - effects (not working, no browser support)
      - gMap (Google Maps not supported in browser)
      - inputRichText (not supported in browser)
      - rowSelector (no row gets selected, no suitable UI mechanism/hover)
      - panelGroup/Drag and Drop (no suitable UI mechanism/drag+hover)
      - dataExport (only works for supported media types )
      - inputFile (not supported)
      - outputMedia (no supported plugins)
      - dataTable/resizable columns (no suitable UI mechanism/hover+drag)
      - panelDivider (no suitable UI mechanism/hover+drag)
      - panelPositioned (no suitable UI mechanism/hover+drag)
      - panelConfirmation (no browser support for JS events)
      - popupPanel/draggable (no suitable UI mechanism/hover+drag)
      - panelTooltip (no suitable UI mechanism/hover)
      - menubar (submenus do not show, no suitable UI mechanism/hover)
      - menuPopup (no suitable UI mechanism/hover)

        As the necessary browser platform support for these issues is not currently available on BlackBerry, these limitations cannot be overcome, but must be designed around in terms of the components and features that are used when developing ICEfaces applications for use on the BlackBerry platform.

        Things should improve dramatically once the WebKit-based Blackberry browser is available.
