Compat showcase: Rich Text basic mode with IE8

            Description

            Load compat showcase Rich Text in IE8, and check the Basic radio to switch to the basic mode. You'll find it takes so long to finish the switch. It's long enough to make you think the application is not going to do the switch at all. But if you navigate to another component demo and come back to Rich Text, it somehow completes the switch.

            Same thing with switching from Basic to Default mode.

              Glimmer revision 21619

              It does not complete the switch by itself. I had waited for 2-3 minutes and didn't see the switch happening. However, navigating to another demo and back again helps completing the switch.

              I looked at it, but no success. IE8 doesn't open javascript console anymore with glimmer. I run the inputRichText demo under 1.8.2 and glimmer, and captured the response using Firebug, responses of both demos almost look identical except the message envelope.

              Might there be a newer version of FCKeditor that supports IE8 that we should adopt (both in compat and icefaces/trunk)?

              We are using 2.6.4 and new available release is 3.3.1. Seems like an issue on our end, so first I am trying to find out the difference between trunk and glimmer.
