      Description

It is difficult to call request.isUserInRole() during Ajax Push. This feature can be provided in the Servlet environment with acegi/spring security, but an equivalent solution need to be found for the portlet environment.

It may be possible to make use of a blocked request for determining the user role.

Ideally this is solved by using acegi security (analogous to the servlet case). This may be possible with the right configuration and some additional third party code:

General and proper portlet support for ICEfaces 2.0 falls under the parent issue of the JSF Portlet Bridge.
