Severe memory leaks in ICEfaces v1.6.0 DR#5

    Details

    • Type: Bug Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Major Major
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: 1.6DR#5
    • Fix Version/s: 1.6DR#6, 1.6
    • Component/s: Framework
    • Labels:
      None
    • Environment:
      Tomcat 5.5, JSF 1.1, ICEfaces v1.6.0 DR#5, Windows XP

      Description

I have a page with paginated list, and I start getting out of memory after just 20-30 requests. I am using the default Tomcat heap size (64 MB). Memory usage in Tomcat keeps on increasing, finally resulting in out-of-memory errors.

I am using concurrentDOMViews, and this appears linked to ICE-556. However, I am using the fix provided in ICE-556 to release application managed resource (ViewListener.viewDisposed). So either the fix for ICE-556 is not complete, or this is a new bug.

IMHO, this is show stopper. ICEFaces utility will be limited to trivial applications with very small user base until this bug is fixed.

You're right. I missed to remove view's component hierarchy from the session.

As this is a severe issue, what about releasing DR#6 containing the fix?
