Description
During development of the BridgeIt demo, it was noticed that calling push from the Echo service would not always work if the push notification arrived before the application switched back from BridgeIt to the web app. To work around this in the Echo service (the Spring version), a delay was added (2000ms) to allow time for the mobile application to make the transition back to the web page and restart push.
It would be better to have a mechanism to help guarantee delivery rather than put the onus on the service developer to use this type of workaround.

A round trip through the application is currently the best known mechanism for delivery guarantee. Individual push mechanisms may have their own guarantee features, but this would require research.
So, this JIRA is only the starting point for an investigation, not a specific feature to implement at this point.
