Not sure if this is related or not but also get firebug errors:-
_236 has no properties
iceSubmit(undefined, null, submit )icefaces-d2d.js (line 1932)
onsubmit(submit )
when this happens.
A button submits the request and the popup appears, the request is processed and the page is rendered properly (so does not affect program functionality).

Shutdown connection before unload since previous fix wasn' t working in all cases.
