Unable to clear model data with null values after form submission in portlet after using trunk (revision 14098, 6/8/2007)

            Description

            After performing an "svn update" from the trunk (revision 14098, 6/8/2007), my sample-icefaces-sun-portlet started populating text fields with the string "null" after filling out the required fields, and clicking the "Submit" button, which clears the model data. (Note that the submit will take a long time if the email server is not hooked-up/responding).
