      Description

As described in the forum post adding a <title>Title</title> to h:head does not seem to take.

I recently upgraded and icefaces 3 application to icefaces 4 just like in the forum message as I see the same situation.

This can be closed.. As it turned out I was running as a servlet but deploying to tomcat in a liferay distribution. The libraries that liferay includes with that causes the portlet detection to kick in and then not set the headers.. I'd say that there needs to be a less failure prone method to detect if you're running as a servlet or a portlet as for sure you may in fact have that use case with the same tomcat instance being used for both liferay and a standalone icefaces servlet.
